Booking & Payment Terms
Last updated: August 26, 2026
In plain language
Who you are paying, that you are buying an appointment and not an outcome, the provider's cancellation policy, and how refunds work.
These terms apply when you book and pay for an appointment with a Substance Abuse Professional through SAP Drivers. They are short because you are probably reading them on a phone with a card in your hand.
1. Who you are paying
You are paying the provider, not us. They are the merchant on the transaction, their name is on your card statement, and their name is on the receipt. They set their own price.
SAP Drivers charges the provider a flat booking fee out of that payment — $49 for an initial evaluation and $29 for a follow-up evaluation. It is a flat amount, never a percentage of what you paid, and it does not add anything to your price. We are telling you because you should know who takes what.
2. What you are buying
An appointment. Not an outcome.
Booking and paying does not entitle you to any particular evaluation result, does not guarantee you will be found eligible for return-to-duty testing, and does not change your FMCSA Clearinghouse status. The Substance Abuse Professional makes a clinical judgement under 49 CFR Part 40 and it is theirs alone. If the outcome is not what you hoped for, you received the service you paid for.
3. Where you must be during the appointment
For a remote evaluation we ask which state you will be physically inat the time of the appointment. This is not a formality. Under 49 CFR §40.291 a remote evaluation is limited by the SAP’s own licence, and the state that governs is the one you are sitting in — not where you live, not where your CDL was issued, not your billing address.
An inaccurate answer can invalidate the evaluation you paid for. If your plans change and you will be in a different state, tell your provider before the appointment.
4. Cancelling
Each provider sets their own cancellation window and policy, and the exact wording is shown on the booking page before you pay. Outside that window, cancel and you are refunded in full. Inside it, or if you do not attend, the provider’s stated policy applies.
We store which version of that policy you were shown, so if there is ever a dispute the question of what you agreed to has an answer.
5. Refunds, and what a refund never affects
Refunds are issued by the provider, on the same card, and normally reach you within five to ten business days. When a booking is refunded our booking fee is returned too — we do not keep a fee on an evaluation that did not happen.
A refund, a cancellation, a no-show or a payment dispute never withholds a document from you. 49 CFR §40.355(n) prohibits a service agent from delaying testing-related documents over a payment dispute, and there is no system here that could do it even if we wanted to.
6. If something goes wrong
Raise it with your provider first — they performed the service and they hold the clinical record. If you cannot reach them, or the problem is with the booking itself, write to hello@sapdrivers.app and we will help where we can.
What we cannot do is change an evaluation result, tell a provider what to find, or alter anything in the FMCSA Clearinghouse. See our Service Agent Statement for the full list of what we do not do and the rules that say so.
7. The rest
Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to your use of the site generally, including what we hold about you and for how long. Where they conflict with this page about a booking, this page governs the booking.
