Plain answers about where the information on this site comes from, what it means, and what it does not mean. If you are making a decision about your career or your money, read this page.
1. This is not legal, medical or professional advice
Nothing on this site — including articles, guides, and anything written by a listed provider — is legal advice, medical advice, or a substitute for the guidance of a qualified Substance Abuse Professional. The return-to-duty process is governed by 49 CFR Part 40and by your employer's own policies. For your situation, speak to a DOT-qualified SAP and, where money or your licence is at stake, to a lawyer.
2. Where carrier information comes from
Carrier identity, addresses, USDOT numbers, fleet and driver counts, operating status and safety records come substantially from the FMCSA motor carrier census, a public federal record. Those figures are self-reported by carriers and unaudited, and can be out of date — a carrier may report a fleet size once and never update it.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the FMCSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, or any government agency.
3. What “SAP-friendly” means here
A carrier appears in this directory because it has been reported — by drivers, by public sources, or by the carrier itself — to have hired drivers with an FMCSA Clearinghouse violation. It does not mean the carrier is hiring today, that it will hire you, or that its policy has not changed since it was reported.
SAP-status marks on carrier pages come from drivers who called and told us. They are crowd-sourced reports, not verified statements from the carrier. Always confirm directly with the recruiter before you make plans or spend money.
4. What a provider listing means — and does not
Listed SAPs state that they are qualified under 49 CFR Part 40. We do not verify credentials, licences, or qualifications. A listing — free or Featured — is not an endorsement, certification, recommendation or vetting by us.
Featured placement is paid. A provider at the top of a state page, marked Featured, has purchased that position. It is not a ranking, a quality score, or a judgment that they are better than the providers listed below them. Free and Featured listings are held to the same accuracy standard.
Before paying any provider, confirm their qualification independently and confirm your employer or consortium will accept them. Any agreement is between you and them; we are not a party to it and take no fee from it.
5. Provider-written articles
Articles bylined to a provider are written by that provider. We review them before publishing, but the views, claims and advice are the author's own. An author may hold a paid Featured listing — assume any article written by a provider is also a form of self-promotion, and weigh it accordingly.
6. Advertising and how this site is paid for
This site is free to drivers. It is funded by advertising (including Google AdSense), voluntary donations, and paid Featured placement bought by SAP providers. Advertising is served by third parties and its presence is not an endorsement of the advertiser.
No driver has ever been charged to use this directory, and none will be.Paying us does not change a driver's access to anything.
7. Contact information published here
Phone numbers, addresses and email addresses on carrier pages are drawn from public federal records. Some are individuals' work contact details. If you are named on this site and want your details removed or corrected, email hello@sapdrivers.app and we will act on it.
8. Accuracy, and how to tell us we are wrong
We work from imperfect public data and driver reports, so some of it will be wrong. If you find something incorrect — a closed carrier, a wrong number, a policy that has changed, a provider who is no longer practising — tell us and we will fix it. See also our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
